WHY AHVA

YOUR SKIN ISN’T JUST A BARRIER.

IT’S A LIVING INTERFACE.

Your skin is a living, responsive organ that is constantly sensing, regulating and interacting with the world around you.

You think about what you eat.
What you put on your skin.
What you use around your home.

But what about what you sweat in?

Most activewear is made predominantly from synthetic, petroleum-based fibres like polyester and nylon.

AHVA was created to give women another option.

Less plastic. More plant-derived fibres. No compromise on performance.

Welcome to wellness-first activewear.

THIS IS ACTIVEWEAR, DONE DIFFERENTLY.

We wanted activewear that felt good in more ways than one.

Soft against your skin.
Strong when you move.
Flattering enough to live in.
Made with more considered materials.

So instead of creating another polyester or nylon-based collection, we started with bamboo-derived lyocell.

Our signature fabric is:

79% BAMBOO LYOCELL & 21% SPANDEX

Bamboo lyocell gives AHVA its beautifully soft, smooth and breathable feel, while spandex provides the stretch, support and shape retention you expect from performance activewear.

Because making a more considered choice shouldn't mean compromising on how your activewear performs.

WHY NOT JUST WEAR POLYESTER?

Most activewear is made predominantly from polyester or nylon- essentially plastic fibres derived from fossil fuels.

And for us, that raised a bigger question:

Do we really want plastic to be the default for something we wear tight against our skin, often for hours at a time?

The concern isn't simply that polyester is “plastic”. It's also what can come with modern textile production.

Clothing can contain dyes, plasticisers, finishes and other chemical additives used to create colour, softness, durability, water resistance, odour resistance and other performance features.

Research has identified chemicals of concern in textiles, including phthalates, bisphenols and PFAS. Some chemicals used or detected in textiles are known for their potential to interfere with the endocrine system- the system responsible for regulating hormones.

And your skin isn't an impenetrable wall.

Research shows that certain chemicals present in textiles can migrate out of fabric, including into sweat, and some can be absorbed through the skin.

Then there's the plastic itself.

Synthetic fabrics like polyester also shed tiny plastic fibres- known as microfibres or microplastics- through wear, abrasion and washing, adding to our wider exposure to plastic pollution.

Science is still working to understand exactly what long-term exposure to microplastics means for human health. But emerging research into micro- and nanoplastics has raised concerns about their potential effects on inflammation, reproductive health and the endocrine system.

For us, that's enough reason to ask:

If we can use less plastic in something we wear so close to our bodies, why wouldn't we?

That's why AHVA makes plant-derived fibre the majority.

79% bamboo lyocell.
21% spandex for the stretch, support and recovery activewear actually needs.

We're not claiming perfection.

And we're not telling you to throw away everything in your wardrobe.

We're simply giving you another option.

Less plastic.
More plant-derived fibre.
Independently tested materials.
And the performance you still expect from your activewear.

Wellness shouldn't stop at what you put in your body. It can include what you choose to put on it, too.

BUT DOES IT ACTUALLY PERFORM?

Absolutely. Because a better fabric means very little if you don't actually want to wear it.

AHVA wasn't created to be delicate loungewear disguised as activewear.

It was created by a Pilates instructor who trains, teaches and lives in activewear.

Every piece is designed for real movement and real life.

Stretch without restriction.
Support where you want it.
Softness you'll notice immediately.
Breathability when things heat up.
Flattering silhouettes you'll want to keep wearing.

Pilates. Strength training. Walking. Running. School drop-off. Coffee afterwards.

Soft enough for home. Strong enough for the gym.

WHY BAMBOO LYOCELL?

Because not all bamboo fabric is created equal.

Our bamboo-derived fibre is made using a lyocell process, rather than conventional bamboo viscose.

Lyocell uses a closed-loop production process designed to recover and reuse the solvent and recycle process water during fibre production. Unlike conventional viscose processing, it also avoids the use of carbon disulfide- a hazardous chemical traditionally used to turn plant cellulose into fibre.

In simple terms? More is reused, less is wasted, and the process avoids some of the harsher chemistry associated with conventional viscose production.

The result is an incredibly soft, smooth fibre that feels beautiful against your skin, without sacrificing the performance we expect from activewear.

Plant-derived at its core. Performance-driven by design.

WHAT ABOUT THE “NASTIES”?

We don't think peace of mind should require guesswork.

That's why our signature fabric is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, one of the world's best-known textile certifications for testing materials for harmful substances.

What does that actually mean?

The certified textile has been independently tested against strict limits for more than 1,000 harmful substances, with requirements that go beyond many national and international regulations.

And the closer a textile is intended to come into contact with your skin, the stricter the requirements.

So you don't just have to take our word for it.

We chose a fabric backed by independent testing.

Because when you're wearing something close to your skin for hours at a time, we'd rather know what's been tested.

WAIT… 21% SPANDEX?

Yep. And we're completely transparent about it.

AHVA isn't 100% natural fibre, and we don't pretend to be.

Our signature fabric is 79% bamboo lyocell and 21% spandex.

So why use spandex?

Because proper activewear needs to stretch, recover, support and stay in place while you move.

Our goal wasn't to create the most “natural” garment possible if it meant creating activewear that didn't actually perform.

Instead, we found a balance:

MORE PLANT FIBRE.

LESS SYNTHETIC FIBRE.

THE PERFORMANCE YOU STILL EXPECT.

And as textile innovation evolves, we'll continue exploring ways to reduce our reliance on synthetics even further.

Progress over perfection. Always.

WHY NOT JUST WEAR COTTON?

You absolutely can.

But cotton isn't everyone's idea of great activewear.

Cotton readily absorbs moisture and doesn't naturally provide the stretch and recovery many women want when they're training.

AHVA was created for the woman who wants more plant-derived fibre without giving up the sculpting stretch, support and performance she loves about activewear.

We couldn't find that middle ground.

So we made it.

WILL IT FEEL DIFFERENT?

Yes. That's kind of the point.

It's one of the first things women notice when they touch AHVA.

The fabric feels beautifully soft and smooth against your skin, without that typical slick synthetic feel you may associate with conventional performance wear.

And once you've felt the difference?

You might start looking at your old leggings a little differently.

Sorry about that.

WELLNESS-FIRST. NEVER STYLE-SECOND.

Because making a more considered choice shouldn't mean dressing like you made one.

We wanted AHVA to feel elevated.

Clean lines.
Flattering silhouettes.
Thoughtful details.
Timeless colours.
Minimal branding.

Pieces you can train in at 8am and still want to be wearing at 2pm.

Because AHVA isn't designed for one hour of your day.

It's EveryWear.

WHY DOES AHVA COST MORE?

Because we're not trying to make the cheapest activewear possible.

We're an independent Australian brand producing in smaller quantities, choosing considered materials and putting time into the details.

Our first collection took more than a year to bring to life, with multiple rounds of sampling, fitting, testing and adjusting before we were willing to put the AHVA name on it.

You're investing in pieces designed to be worn again and again- through your workouts and far beyond them.

Luxury isn't having more.

It's feeling good about what you choose.

MADE FOR REAL LIFE. NOT JUST THE GYM.

The Pilates class.

The strength session.

The morning walk.

The coffee afterwards.

The school run.

The work-from-home day.

The weekend.

And that moment you realise you've been wearing your leggings for eight hours and have absolutely no intention of changing.

That's EveryWear.

AHVA MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF…

You care about what goes into and onto your body.

You're trying to reduce unnecessary synthetics where you realistically can.

You want activewear that feels incredible against your skin.

You still expect stretch, support and performance.

You'd rather invest in considered pieces than chase every new trend.

And you don't expect perfection.

You just want a better option.

THE AHVA DIFFERENCE

One set.

A little less synthetic fibre.
A lot more thought.

Because wellness isn't about doing everything perfectly.

It's about making better choices where you can.

And we think what you wear deserves a place in that conversation.
