Founder's Story
From me, to you
I'm Tanya, founder of AHVA.
AHVA started with a simple frustration: activewear that looked good rarely felt good, and the pieces that felt good rarely looked like anything you'd actually want to be seen in.
I wanted something different. Activewear that felt beautiful against your skin, performed when you needed it to, and looked just as good outside the gym. But more than that, I wanted to feel better about what I was actually wearing on my body.
So, instead of settling for what already existed, we started from scratch.
From our signature fabric blend to the fit, cuts, seams, silhouettes and colours, every element of AHVA has been custom developed with intention. Even our dyes were carefully considered. Nothing was simply chosen from a catalogue and given an AHVA label.
The result is activewear made predominantly from plant-derived bamboo lyocell, with the stretch and support needed for movement. Fabric that feels incredibly soft against your skin, without compromising on performance or design.
Because I don't believe we should have to choose between how our activewear performs, how it looks, and how we feel wearing it.
DAWN is where that vision begins.
Our first collection. Five pieces, made once, in limited quantities and created with so much intention.
AHVA isn't finished. In many ways, we're only just getting started.
My hope is that AHVA can be part of changing what we expect from activewear- moving towards more considered materials, less reliance on plastic-based fibres, and a greater awareness of what we choose to wear against our skin every day.
